    Definition of Privacy Policy and Activity of Personal Information Protection

    Japan Spaceimaging Corporation. (hereinafter referred to as "JSI") shall define that personal information means information about individuals, including the name, birth date and other descriptions about them, or a number, symbol, code, image or sound assigned to them, that identifies the individuals (it shall also include the information that cannot identify individuals by itself, but can, as it easily can be verified with some other information.), and/or the information that contains an individual identification code(s).  In addition, personal information includes not only information that can identify an individual, but also all information that expresses facts, judgments, and evaluations regarding an individual's body, property, occupation, title, and other attributes.

     

    JSI protects and manages the personal information by establishing a manager on a department basis with the greatest care and the best effort based on the "JSI Privacy Policy".

    And, from the viewpoint of the protection of the rights and interests of the Concerned Persons, JSI makes efforts to consider the following points.

    -Responding to request from Concerned Persons about their retained personal data by voluntarily stopping its use, etc., such as stopping the sending of direct mail to the Concerned Person.


    -Whether information is entrusted to others or not, promoting the clarification of outside processing, such as clarifying the details of work done outside the business by outsourcers.

    -Clarifying the purpose of use more to the Concerned Persons through activities such as the business voluntarily limiting the purpose of use based on the selections of the Concerned Persons or the business limiting and showing the purpose of use by type with consideration to the details of the work.

    -Specifying as concretely as possible the source personal information was acquired from and the method of acquisition (the type of acquisition source, etc.) on the procedures to meet requests for disclosure and others.

    Japan Space Imaging Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "JSI") believes that the protection of personal information is the basis of JSI business activities and is JSI social responsibility and its obligation.

    JSI have established the following personal information protection policy and strive to ensure implementation of the policy.

    1. Collection, Use and Provision of Personal Information

    (1) Principles of collection

    JSI collects personal information after clearly stating the purpose and obtaining prior consent from the person.

    (2) Principles of use and provision

    When using and/or providing personal information, JSI uses and provide it only for the the purpose specified in advance.

    2. Respect for Rights

    JSI respects the rights of individuals regarding personal information, and responds to requests for disclosure of your personal information within a reasonable period of time and within an appropriate scope.

    In addition, if there is an error or change in your personal information, JSI responds promptly within a reasonable period of time only if JSI can identify yourself.

    3. Proper management of personal information (Implementation of Safety Management Measures)

    In order to operate as an organization to ensure proper handling of personal information, from the perspective of personal information protection, JSI has formulated information management and operation rules based on Personal Information Protection Policy and Regulations and Guidelines for Personal Information Management. Moreover, JSI has established a system to confirm and evaluate whether its information security management works properly. Besides developing such rules, JSI is taking concrete security management measures from four specific aspects (systematic, personal, physical, and technical) in handling personal information to prevent from unauthorized access, falsification, destruction, leakage, and losses.



    4. Compliance with Laws, Regulations, and Other Norm

    JSI complies with laws and regulations and other norms to regulate personal information.

    5. Continuous improvement of managing personal information

    JSI appoints a personal information protection manager to appropriately protect and manage personal information. In addition, JSI conducts regular audits and strives for improvement.

    Handling Policy of Personal Information

    1. Collection and Use of Personal Information in JSI Business Activities

    In relation to JSI's business activities, JSI collects and uses personal information only to achieve each purpose.

     

    • -Execution of a contract concluded between JSI and a customer.
    • -Contacts for business negotiations and meetings with a customer.
    • -Notice of events, new products, and e-mail magazines, etc.
    • -Execution of business, entrusted by customers.
    • -Responding to various inquiries from customers.
    • -Analysis to improve products and services based on surveys
    • -Provision of personal information to the group company in case of co-operation with them.
    • -Security and safety management by using security cameras and/or any other equivalent devices


    When JSI requires a person to provide the personal information as is written in a document directly from the person (including electronic means such as web and e-mail), JSI will clearly state the purpose of the use beforehand to obtain the consent.

    2. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

    JSI does not provide the personal information with a third party without first obtaining consent of the person, except in the following cases:

     

    • -Cases in which the provision of personal information is based on laws
    • -Cases in which the provision of personal information is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
    • -Cases in which the provision of personal information is especially necessary for improving public hygiene or promoting the sound growth of children and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
    • -Cases in which the provision of personal information is necessary for cooperating with a state institution, a local public body, or an individual or entity entrusted by one in executing the operations prescribed by laws and in which obtaining the consent of the person might impede the execution of the operations concerned  
    • -Cases in which an entry handling personal information entrust the handling of personal information in whole or in part within the scope necessary for the achievement of the Purpose of Use
    • -Case in which personal information is provided as a result of the take-over of business in a merger or otherwises

    Voluntary provision of personal information and consequences of failure to provide it

    The provision of personal information on this website is voluntary.

    However, Please note that if you do not provide your personal information, JSI may not be able to provide services (including responding to inquiries, etc.) you expect.
